Filmfare Award for Best Actor
The Filmfare Award for Best Actor is written by Filmfare as part of its annual Filmfare prizes for Hindi (Bollywood) films, to determine a male actor who has delivered an outstanding performance in a task that is leading. The award was first given in 1954. As of 2016, Dilip Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan lead the list, with eight wins each.
Dilip Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan, with eight wins, do have more actor awards that are best than any other star. Hrithik Roshan has four wins, and Rajesh Khanna and Naseeruddin Shah have three victories each.
Dilip Kumar additionally holds the record for many wins that are consecutive having won the award for 36 months in a row from 1956 to 1958. Amitabh Bachchan is the most performer that is selected any major acting category at Filmfare, with 40 nominations overall.
Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are the only actors to be selected twice for the role that is same. Hrithik Roshan attained this feat twice; he had been nominated for his role as Krishna Mehra in 2007 and 2014, and for his role as Rohit Mehra in 2004 and 2014 (he won in 2004). Shah Rukh Khan was nominated in 2007 and 2012 for his portrayal of the type that is titular Don and Salman Khan was nominated in 2011 and 2013 for his role as Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg and Dabangg 2 respectively.
